The Lodi Agricultural Fair 2011 - here and gone!

We attended our first Lodi Agricultural Fair this past weekend and had a great time!

As a new business in Lodi and the 100th Chamber member we were asked to represent Suzie the Duck and make a pie for the pie auction.  The money raised from each pie sale goes to the 4H Challenger organization.  We were amazed at the support from the community as each pie was bid on. There were several pies that went for over a $1,000 each!  I am proud to say we raised $375 for our pie which is a big deal as most of you know I am not a pie maker!

It was a hot & steamy weekend for the fair, but there was still a large turnout.  Some of the highlights of our time at the fair were:  live duck races, meeting Suzie the Duck (mascot), seeing all the animals, the American Idol contest (the winner will sing the National Anthem at the Madison Mallards game on August 5th), the food and of course the auctioning of our pie. Next year we're going to take in more events including the demolition derby & the free horse drawn carriage rides.
